Get Your Culture Fix With the TSO
January 12th, 2007 by AmyBetween the ages of 15 and 29? Can’t justify shelling out $100 to see a world-class classical concert? Sign up for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s tsoundcheck, and pay only $12 for many of the TSO’s concerts throughout the year. Signup is free. You don’t need to be a student. And best of all, you don’t have to wait until the day of the concert to buy a ticket. In general, you can buy tickets a week or so before the show, so keep checking on the TSO’s website to see what’s available.
The seat you (and a friend – you can buy up to 2 tickets) get assigned will vary, depending on what’s available at the time of your booking. I’ve gotten seats in the 3rd row, and also seats on the furthest balcony before, so it really is luck of the draw.
My favourite guilty pleasure: Sleeping through a classical concert. Hey, it’s only $12 bucks.
