Film Finds in this post: “Thank You for Smoking” and “Little Miss Sunshine” (free, free snacks) by Victoria College Film Society. “Everything’s Gone Green” ($5) by NFB (National Film Board of Canada). “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” (free) by CINSSU. Details after the flip.
I recently found out about the Victoria College Film Society through their facebook group, and luckily enough, they have an upcoming event. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a Vic student to attend. Everyone is welcome, and there’ll be free snacks to accompany the free film screening. They’ll be showing the films at The Cat’s Eye on Monday Jan. 22nd, 2007; “Thank You for Smoking” at 7:00 pm and “Little Miss Sunshine” at around 9:00 pm. The Cat’s Eye is in the basement of the Wymilwood building. Not sure where that is? Well, neither am I, so here’s a map!
The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) will be showing “Everything is Green” as part of their Critic’s Choice Series. I’m not too familiar with the film, but according to the IMDB description, it’s about Ryan, a good-natured slacker who is tempted into a money laundering scheme while working for a lottery magazine. Admission is $5 (free for NFB members, and NFB membership is free). Screening is on Tuesday Jan. 23rd, 2007, 7:00 pm at the NFB Theatre, 150 John. St.
This week’s CINSSU Free Friday Film is The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and old school (1988) adventure/fantasy/comedy. Screening is at Innis Town Hall (2 Sussex Ave.) on Friday Jan 26, 2007, at 7:00 pm.
