The Creative Classes at Hart House offer cool classes in Theatre, Personal Empowerment, Filmmaking, Photography and Music, including the Ukelele. Check out the Lover’s Ukelele class in particular where you create a Valentines Song in 3 short weeks.

I think this event, Blues and Q`s and all that Jazz! at Queen`s Quay Terminal might be of interest to the university`s music department. It is a musical competition for students who are enrolled in a certified musical program within the GTA and sing the blues or jazz. Also, the winnter wins $2,000!

Most students don’t know that Echolocation, a lit magazine published by the department of English exists. We publish once a year and accept submissions of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction and art from everyone, but in particular from writers in the U of T community. This fall we’ll be hosting our launch of Issue 11, a bake sale and back issues sale, and possibly even a writing workshop, and we’d love blogTO to help us in promoting the creativity and innovation of its students. Thanks so much.

  9. Leah Henrickson | Co-Editor Says:

Please do an exhaustive issue on the fraternities at U of T. I’m a student here right now and I still don’t know which one is good, how it works, how much it costs, if you can live there, etc. Thanks! Keep up the good work!

How about an article on walking tours and urban adventures in Toronto?

Most new students (as well as long-term Torontonians) can benefit from a guided tour of the city.

Tour Guys – free downtown walking tours, ghost tours, graffit tours, etc
    Toronto Urban Adventures – beer/history, Kensington Market/Chinatown

  12. Ondiek Says:

As a grade 12 student, I’ve been hearing many people applying to UofT complaining about the lack of info on colleges and residences on official UofT websites. I have already decided which college I want to go to (Trinity or UC), but it’d be great to learn more about them beyond the limited pictures that their websites give me. On a last note, I just have to say that I love this website, and I have been visiting it for nearly 2 years. You guys made me confident in picking UofT as my first choice. Keep up the good work!
