UTSU – U Totally Showed Up (For Free Food!)

Monday, April 30th, 2007

u_showed_up.jpg

It’s a volunteer appreciation party for UTSU (University of Toronto Student Union). There’ll be free food and also an “appreciation ceremony”. On their facebook event page is a list of all the things that UTSU did this year, and it’s quite an impressive list. A little self-congratulatory perhaps? But hey, everyone needs a little appreciation once in a while.

Two pats on the back for sure, UTSU. Perhaps you disagree… having never actually found out/or gone to any of the events on that list. Well, why not go to this one. Tell them how they can improve and do better next year while eating their free food. It’s a win win.

When: Monday, April 30, 2007, 4pm – 6pm
Where: Croft Chapter House at University College, 15 Kings College Circle
Details: There will be free food. What kind? I’m not sure, it doesn’t say. See Facebook event page.

Introducing: Guest Blogger – Emily Shelton – UTSU VP External

University of Toronto Student's Union Banner

We’re excited to introduce the new column “Guest Blogger” here at blogUT. Guest Blogger will consist of a series of informal interviews with people who are involved with U of T campus groups, organizations, and clubs (and who knows, maybe even U of T administration). We hope it’ll be a great way for our readers to find out more about a specific part of campus life.

Amidst the unrolling of mattresses, painting of banners, and pinning down of tents in preparation for the Freeze The Fees Campout on Wednesday, Emily Shelton found the time to sit down and have a brief chat with me. Thanks a ton to Emily for finding the time to do this with us!

About: Emily Shelton is our current VP External of UTSU (University of Toronto Students Union, formerly SAC), graduated 0T6, majored in Political Science and minored in Sociology and Bioethics. So what does Emily do for you as an exec at UTSU? (more…)
